Initially designed to be a power over ethernet powered smart switch for an ESP32. Adapted it to use PoE and then an RJ45 breakout port for sensors. Screws on the top are spaced to support a standard single gang switch. The top will close the box if you do not need a switch. The boost-buck converter I used in this install does (allegedly) support 48v, but I have killed one using PoE. 24v is guaranteed to work. 48v PoE may kill the converter.
Do NOT plug a dumb PoE adapter into the data port. You will probably blow up your ESP.
Items used in this install are an RJ45 breakout, a boost-buck converter, a dumb 24v PoE adaper, and an ESP32.
