Palm Tamper with Adjustable Depth Control...

Threads wound up being very snug. I didn't want a lot of slop...so I fear I may have made it dimensionally a bit too tight. I had to work the components back and forth to get the threads to move more freely...but they still wind up tight. I may try some food grade silicone grease on them to see if it helps. Ideally, I need to put just a bit more room in future iterations.

I made this THING as a proof of concept...I"ll be testing it with my old dilapidated Hamilton Beach Espresso machine --- I have a Rocket Espresso Appartamento coming in March(2017)...so I will remix and post the design again...to the dimensions of the Rocket Portafilter Baskets...

I have found that working the components back and forth with one another has made the threads run much smoother. When I thread the tamp into the backside of the main body...it spins on freely. I believe there is some drag from the walls o
