Estes Luna Bug Model Rocket

This is a 3D printed version of the Estes Luna Bug rocket kit that is exclusively sold by Hobby Lobby craft stores.

The store bought model rocket kit uses 13mm mini-motors. This version can use larger motors. The integrated launch lug uses a 3/16 inch (4.76mm) launch rod. No motor mount is included with this model. There is one version with and one without an attached nose cone.

The individual parts of the rocket are also included with this model. Both the model and the individual parts can be scaled up or down to suit your needs.

This model is scaled up to:

1) an airframe ID of 2.07 inche (52.8mm),

2) a total height of about 15.5 inches (400mm),

3) the center of the nose cone to the center of the fin pad is about 5.3 inches (135mm).

I will be designing some motor mounts and shock cord mount a little later.

Thanks to Cybus for designing the nozzle that is not part of the original design of the kit. I sized it fit the airframe tube.
