Euro-hinge cutout template

Template to facilitate 35mm hole cut-out for euro-hinge installation on thin 15mm (5/8) panels. A forstner bit cutting 12mm depth on 15mm panels will is close to penetrating through due to the scribing out tips and center point of the cutter. A router is more suited for this.

The guide is intended for use with a router 10mm OD template guide accessory and a 1/4 inch bit. This requires 3 x 4mm countersunk screws and nuts to fasten the edge guides. For the Makita RT0700,the template guide accessory is shown in Fig 17 of the instructions manual.

Align the long sides to 3/4/5 mm holes to provide the desired edge clearance. The duplicated left/right position provides to upper/lower hinge positions.

The shorter guide positions the hinge at 3, 3 1/2, and 4 inch positions from the top/bottom edges.

The base plate is fairly wide to provide for ample clamping space. Photo is an earlier iteration with a narrower baseplate causes the clamp to interfere with the router base.
