This is an experimental wing to go on the rubberband plane designed by DanielMitchell here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3440828
The wing is lighter than the original and uses the fold to make it more ridged rather than a bar. The result is a lighter wing that can more take on the form of a wing with lifting properties.
The plane needs some weight loss and a little more lift. The tail is great. I printed the blade at 120% length and 90% depth to make it thinner. It worked great, but the 90% reduced the cross section. The original needs to take a swag at being thinner.
I poked some holes in the frame and reduced its weight some. I think the next attempt would be to print the frame with known thicknesses and manual supports to best take advantage of printing abilities to shave weight and architect strength.
The wing feels good. Print it flat. You want to gradually bend it and not kink it over the front. I put superglue on the ribs and the back. Don't glue th
