This is the a new version of my external FDD enclosures for computers like Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum and others.
As always, the two parts are designed to best fit.
The rear of the bottom includes two holes for 6mm diameter switches to select floppy drive unit A or B and to select the floppy side A or B. It also includes an 8mm diameter hole for the power connector of the floppy drive.
For the 34-pin cable, a gap of 1mm thick is formed at the rear when the two parts are closed (backside down) allowing the cable to go out without problems.
With this new design both parts can be printed without supports. Also, less material is needed to print without loss of strenght.
