A nice thing (apart from being aluminium) is that you can regulate the force that is being applied to the filament. The problem with this kit is, is that it will totally ruin flexible filament as it will wrap around the gear.
So I set out to fix that: I made an insert that guides the filament from the extruder gears to the pneumatic coupling. You will need a Nema 17 stepper motor and pneumatic couplings with M6 thread, but you can use the ones that were used by the stock extruder..
And apart from that you also will need 2 M3 bolts 20 mm long.
As the insert typically never want to be screwed in straight, I first screw in the pneumatic coupler in the place where the insert will be, then I take a 2 mm drill bit and insert that into the coupler, having the largest part of the drill bit sti
