These are rough notes aimed to serve as an inspiration for makers to build an autodrive system for FA X-10 press.
For general context, my implementation is based on a stepper operating via a 20:1 gearbox. A sprocket and chain solution might be desirable, as the press doesn't have the perfect concentricity of the cams. At least one maker mentioned that they've experienced binding when driving the press. Before writing this summary, I loaded over 5,000 9mm rounds without issues or signs of excessive wear.
I didn't attempt this project until I had a minimally sufficient suite of sensors — [powder check](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6409066) and [bullet sensor](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6844333) — and until I aggregated the sensor inputs into [Alarm Hub](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6732279), which pauses autodrive on any alarm.
