I have developed a small, but very helpful supplement to 3D printer from makerbot.
The Faber Filament Warning system.
I had the problem over and over again that, for example, with a printing overnight, the Filament had stopped, and therefore the print was not finish. Then I had to restart printing again. This costs a lot of time and Filament.
With some components of Conrad Electronic and with the help of Lego to elastic wheels I have built the FFW, and then with the printer have printed a case for it.
I have fastened it behind to the printer.
It still has the additional use that the Filament on the role remains tense.
However, the FFW is switched on only after start of the printing process, then there sounds a short tone, the device runs. Should the Filament stop because the extruder is blocked or the filament is empty or the printing is finished, a persistent loud signal sounds.
Then I can swich to " break " and load the filament again, and than the printing can
