Face framed drawer slide jig

I couldn't find any drawer slide jigs that would work well with my face frame cabinets, so I created this one. My drawer slides are 1/2" wide and 1 3/4" tall. They happen to be 22" long but that shouldn't matter.

There is a groove that holds the slide. Just insert it and clamp the jig to the face frame. The groove hood will hold the rail from tipping over if it is really long. Screw in the brackets (if using) and then the slide. It should be plumb and level (well, perpendicular to your cabinet face). Swap over to teh other side & repeat and you'll be well on your way!

I'm overhauling my kitchen piece-by-piece and this month's project was to replace the noisy, bumpy, cheap-feeling drawer rollers with ball bearing soft-close drawer slides. After doing the first couple by trying to eyeball it and then with a level and tape measure, it was quite cumbersome and time intensive. The jig cut the time by more than half. Hope somebody else finds it helps them as well.
