The original Fanatec CLS DD table clamp for me has two main design issues:
- the center of mass (CLD DD base+wheel) is not on the table, which cause that it's not stable
- it force you tho move out 20-25cm of the table (you increase the distance to the monitor)
So, I decided to create my own one:
- easy to attach/detach
- stable
The main cons of the design is that you have to make two holes in the table. In my case is not a problem as I have an old Ikea table and for not sim-racing activities I always have a big cutting mat on the top (the holes are covered).
Parts:
Fastening to the CS DD:
- 2x M6 x 12mm
- 2x M6 x 16mm
- M6 washers
Fastening to the table
- carriage bolts: 2x M5 (length depends on the table - 80mm in my case)
- I used some Ikea square washers, but it's not needed
I put also 5mm thick anti-vibration mat.
Remark:
The clsDDtableClampSet.jpg picture shows the V1 version. The uploaded files are V2:
- the base is longer for better stability
- the center of mass (CLD DD base+wheel) is not on the table, which cause that it's not stable
