FarWd Shock Marines

Also known as the King’s Hammer, the Shock Marines answer directly to the Crown. The Shock Marine Corps are a highly mobile strike force which can rapidly respond to any situation. Garrisoned aboard destroyer and cruiser vessels as well as the permanent stations in orbit of their worlds, they are able to respond to threats anywhere within Far’Wd space. They are the official professional standing army of the Far'Wd Althingi, called upon to defend population centers from attacks, settle violent disputes between the Guilds, and when necesassary to fight of alien invaders.
