Because the original bracket was flimsy after all years and started cracking, I decided to design this modification. For sizes of screws, washers and drilled holes, you can use whatever fits firmly and what you have in your screws box. You can use the original screws to attach the light to the door.

1. Unscrew and disconnect wires.
2. Pry out the red cover.
3. Pry out reflectors.
4. Pry out the back panel with lightbulbs (remove bulbs first).
5. Cut out the rest of the original bracket.
6. Cut away edge on the back panel.
7. Drill a hole in the place of the original bracket.
8. Screw in a new bracket.
9. And put everything back in reverse order.
