I have some very beautiful gemstone dice made from chrysoberyl and topaz which they recommend only rolling in a felt-lined dice tray, just to be safe. So I can't use them in my snazzy dice tower. So I was thinking, could I build something simple and easily portable that I could line with felt from the craft store and use? And this is what I came up with.

The same design without the felt is a compact dice roller for regular dice, though it's not quite fancy enough to be really worth carrying around - or is it? And it only has room for maybe four dice at a time.

Adding felt is tricky and best done using krazy glue, but very carefully; the glue will tend to soak through the felt so pressing the felt down without it sticking to your fingers or the tool you use is tricky. What I did is used paperclips to hold the felt in place while I got the shape down, then starting at the tray farthest from the chute, I pulled the felt up a bit, put down glue, then pushed it back into pla
