Drying filament with the included heating unit (i.e. the heated bed which comes on basically all printers) should be way more common! There's no need to buy a food dehydrator or to use your kitchen oven!
This print is basically an essential for anyone printing filament rolls of any kind!
This idea has been tossed around the community, and Design Prototype Test did release a similar dryer to his Patreon supporters, so I can't take all the credit for the design.
The dryer I built incorporates a 60mm pc fan (https://www.ebay.com/itm/192490647474) and is wired to a 9v battery and a switch. The fan fits on top of the fan with small sheet metal screws, but also small (m3) bolts and washers if available.
The last piece of the build is the box enclosure. I grabbed a 200mm x 200mm x 225 mm box from the grocery store and lined the inside with fin foil to better enclose the heat of the bed. Also I poked about 20 holes throughout the top of the box, so the airflow inside the chamber
