Beschreibung Spool racks do exist, but unfortunately, either not in the right diameter or not to my taste. So, just a quick note: my taste is set and won't change. However, if you need a different diameter for the rods, feel free to message me or leave a comment! Cost Overview The shelf is 80 cm wide, has two rows, and holds up to 20 spools. Materials Used PETG Filament: 1.2 kg, starting from 15€ (depending on brand and availability) Wooden Dowel: 22 mm diameter, 3.2 m length, around 10€ Tools Used Slitting saw for Wood with Mitre box: arround 7.50€ (alternatively, circular saw, jigsaw, etc.) Sandpaper: approximately 0.50€ Utility Knife: (alternatively, any sharp knife) Preparation and Assembly It’s best to start the print first, as it takes about a day. While your printer is working, you can get the dowels and cut them to the required length. Assembly is easier if all the dowels are the same length. The easiest way is to cut the first one to size and then use it as a template for the others. If you soften the edges of the dowels with sandpaper, they’ll be easier to insert later, and you’ll avoid any risk of chipping. The connectors are printed with support material, which often results in a slightly rough surface. Although this won’t be visible later, it helps with assembly if you smooth these areas a bit with a knife – the parts will fit together more easily and securely. In the end, the parts just need to be snapped together :). Note Unfortunately, the dowels aren’t as precise as our 3D printer. In my experience, I’ve found a tolerance of about 0.5 mm. The holes fit perfectly for dowels up to 22.35 mm in diameter. If your dowels vary more than this, please scale the model slightly to achieve a better fit. For questions, suggestions, or requests, feel free to send a message or leave a comment. I always appreciate feedback!
