Another multi-material extravaganza! ABS, stainless steel, and wood.
3D printers are awesome, there is no doubt, but there is no reason that everything has to be printed!
I feel that this is a great balance of print time, strength, and certainly fun!
You can make the A-frame whatever size you want. I have mine sized for Hatchbox spools. The feet have adhesive foam on them to keep it running silent, and to keep it from sliding around on the print table.
The update to this version over thing 2536625 has moved the 608 bearings outside the spool flanges. The defect in the original version was the spool running off of the spool holder during use. The spool holder flanges now contain 1/4-in X 20 stainless nuts and thread on to the spool axle. I applied thread locker to one flange to maintain its position on the axle. The other flange is free to thread on and off the axle.
If you already have a 2536625 version, the only parts that are different are the:
