This device assists in spooling filament from a spool with a center diameter to another spool with a smaller diameter. The reason for its conception is the proprietary size of the filament spools for the Flashforge Finder but the principle works with any two spools of different size.
I've used the transfer connector together with the TUSH spool holder / rail https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2047554. I attached to sets of TUSH to a wooden plank at that right distance from each other using cyanoacrylate glue.
To respool the filament, stick the transfer connector's part A through the two spools. Then put the B part on the A part like a lid. Thread the filament into the hole in the empty spool and slowly start turning the empty spool, keeping the filament reasonably tense.
As you wind more filament onto the receiving spool it will become easier and easier to increase the speed on the spool. When you have enough filament on the receiving spool, simply stop and cut the filament.
