I designed custom wall mounts only because i didn't like the generic ones. chevy, 355, k5 wall mounts left/right and they use 3/4" wooden dowels. The filament sits on top of the wooden rod.
They use 8x1 1/4" wood screws to mount to the wall studs. I also put a rod holder screw hole as a option.
