Filtermaske

This is a solid filter mask with a 48mm threaded stub to be equipped with filter material cut from e. g. vacuum cleaner bag, 44mm in diameter and min. 8mm thick. In order to safely keep back the corona virus this filter should be of highest quality, either FFP3 material or from vacuum cleaner bags capable of holding back microparticles the size of sneeze droplets carrying corona... which is .03µm in diameter. The mask is still under work, next stage is to make it fit for moldflow production. In the mean time feel free to print yourself a duplicate of my prototype... Either the face piece and the threaded part separately to be glued together later or in one piece. First attempt fits a large male face ... work in progress is: make it fit to small female ones (or children). "One size fits all" will obviously not work, there is too much sexual dimorphism in human anatomy. First print - see picture - was made with natural ABS in 0.1 mm layers ... nice! But wearing a hard mask over a period of time is quite uncomfortable. So next comes TPEfor the face part, which one needs some special extruder for (e. g. Flexion). Another idea is to use antibacterial filament for the hard parts - copper-filled PLA e. g. Plactive.
