A simple splint to help stop trigger finger at the A1 joint.
A simple splint to help stop trigger finger at the A1 joint inspired by a splint I've received from a hand specialist to treat trigger finger
I've made 2 sizes - one for the pinky finger one for other fingers.
I found for comfort the best thing was to use a heat gun and mould around your fingers. There's extra “height” to rill the top over to smooth the edges.
I also fount it beneficial to heat the part the will sit between your fingers and gently round the plastic so it doesn't rub on a sharp corner.
Trim length to size, use a lighter to heat the edges and round off with finger or tool or it will start to irritate.
If too loose, can use a small piece of velcro or tape across the back (as pictured for the ring finger).
Please note I'm not a medical professional nor recommending use on a medical basis, just sharing what I am using at home. Recommend seeing a hand specialist/surgeon to advise treatment.
