After not having access to a key when i needed it, i got some emergency spares made up and thought i'd make some amusing novelty covers to help identify them. I was going to design the Fire Axe myself but i quickly found the Pickhead Fire Axe by3D Medic Vince on Maker world and thought it would be much quicker and easier to use this as a base.
I have printed mine with Silk PLA for the head and ePLA-CF for the handle on a multi head printer.
The result is here for you to also in enjoy in file and photo form.
Basic Instructions:
Pick a half of each part your going to use and glue in the positioning pegs (they are just to help with lining up the halves while gluing).
Then just pop your key in the space provided and carefully put glue around the flat side of the now pegged part (Avoid covering the key with glue while making sure that you are covering the pegs).
Now press the other half of the part in place, preferably clamp them while the glue sets.
same process for the tooth cover/
