Beyond 3D printing roleplaying pieces, I also GM. Many moons ago I decided to run a Lovecraftian horror inspired game. This is one of the beasts I came up with, the Night Dog.
A Night Dog resembles an emaciated dog with a large round head that opens into a wide toothy maw. It's large eyes help the nocturnal creature stalk it's prey. It's feet resemble that of a chameleon, but with the middle "finger" replaced with a sharp hooked claw. The creature tends towards wooded areas, and is an excellent climber.
Night Dogs follow around orbs of light. These orbs are extremely delicate. Any contact with a solid object will make them instantly "pop." The orbs of light are attracted to living creatures, so the Night Dogs follow them to find their pray.
The Night Dog encounters typically go as such. Strange orbs of light appear, the party gets curious/paranoid and pops all the orbs, because the orbs are gone the Night Dogs attack. Subsequent encounters the players are very cautious and pro
