I have been trying to print with flexible PLA on the I3 mini, and kept having the filament bend and come out between the extruder gear and the entry point to the bowden tube. I created this adapter to fill the void so the filament has no where to go but to the bowden tube.
it has worked out great! I have trying to print a tire for R2-D2, that failed every time, but now it is 15 hours in and doing great!
This has been designed to fit over the nut that holds the fitting for the bowden tube. With this design, the adapter stays in place and doesn't move or fall out.
To install, remove the filament, then loosen the fitting. insert the fitting nut into the adapter, and hold in place, Next, thread the fitting into the nut until it is tight. If installed correctly, the filament should line right up and feed thru easily.
