Another idea using models created by the [Flexy-Frame Construction Kit](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:260226).
Print as many as you want and combine together with the three lobed connecting pieces.
This could be printed pre-assembled with dual extrusion. One flexible and one rigid filament.
Other tessellation shapes can easily be created with the construction kit too.
