I couldn't find any templates for the tow hook Josh was using on his FT Simple Soarer in the Glider Challenge video from FliteTest, so I made my own. It was made using reference stills from the episode (Seen above).
The hook should loosely grasp the two-foamboard-thick edge on the underside of the FT Simple Soarer fuselage. It should not bind. See instructions below for more.
Two versions are available. One is 5mm thick which is closest to the original and should work for most people. The other is 10mm thick and can spread the launching force across a larger area, protecting your model from damage during vigorous launches.
