Fluval Spec V Filter Basket

This is a filter Basket for the Fluval Spec V aquarium.

I find the stock sponge wasn't very effective unless it was "dirty" and did its filtering job well.

This basket makes for an easier DIY load-out for whatever medias you have, the top portion is a trickle down water flow design, this increases oxygen exchange and allows for bio balls or what have you in this upper portion, the lower portion is usually submersed, so this is where the carbon or matrix media goes in. Its quite spacious, lots of room to add cheap filter floss for that clear water look.

Print this sideways so the handle portion is contiguous with the rest of the basket, I printed this in PLA and it was a snug fit, please check your dimensions before printing and make sure it fits, if you cant get a good measurement, print this standing up and just print a small 3-5 mm portion of the base and put that into your tank and see how it fits.
