Flying Ghost/Decoration System

Flying Ghost System – 3D-Printed Halloween Yard Display This project is a fully self-contained cable system designed to make flying ghost decorations soar through the yard—no trees required!I designed and 3D-modeled a complete support system that uses Schedule 40 PVC for the posts and arms, making it easy to assemble, disassemble, and customize for different layouts. The drive system is powered by a windshield wiper motor (1987–1995 Jeep Wrangler) paired with a 12-volt power supply, providing smooth, continuous motion along a suspended steel cable track. Instead of relying on overhead trees, support posts are 3" schedule 40 PVC drain pipe, available at any home improvement store. The posts are supported using steel cables tensioned using ground anchors, similar to staking a tent. Also included are standoffs for strapping 3" PVC to another object, such as a mailbox.
