This is a compact launch pad used to launch model rockets. It folds up for easy transport and storage. This launch pad uses a 1/8" guide rod (steel rod should be available for a couple of dollars in any hardware store). It should be stable enough for small rockets if placed on solid level ground. For added security (or heavier rockets), one can stake down each leg, using the included holes. The inclination of the rod is adjustable to account for wind. I used the blast shield from an old launch pad I had. Alternatively you can use the included one. But as it will be made of plastic, it will not last forever. Or just drill a small hole in a small piece of metal (like a soup can lid) and use that.
