I had customized the older version of the Aerocomfort bag (v 2.0 was built for the rim brakes ) & retro-fit the disc brake bikes with 1/2" thru hole axles.
My simple customization involves grinding off the spot welds holding the end nuts for the quick release skewers,
this step exposes the pipe with 9/16" inner dia - one that allows 1/2" thru hole bolts for the forks and rear stay. As you can see I had saved up the original skewers and nuts to also have the flexibility to use 1/8" skewers any time later.
Now to save the forks from wobbling and grinding against the exposed pipe ends during transportation I printed out these 2" bushes. At 35mm height these take into account the weld flashes with central spine holding the pipe & also long enough to stop rubbing.
