I managed to break the handle on my Bodum French press, so I wanted to make a replacement which I could readily disassemble for cleaning. The handle snaps onto the flared out bit at the top of the carafe, then wraps around the bottom of the carafe to clip onto the opposite side of the base, and then the base slides onto the bottom of that. The fit is tight enough that it's not going anywhere when assembled, but you can put a little force on the base to pull it off to remove it and the handle. Given this thing is meant to hold near-boiling temperature water, strongly recommend using a higher temperature filament (I used PETG.) Despite that, an earlier rev of this didn't have the clip at the end of the handle to grab the edge of the base and so relied only on the fit friction to stay together..that ended in coffee on the floor, so if you want to make something similar, learn from my mistake!
