Fruit mold

My wife shared a video on facebook of fruit and veg in strange shapes such as a heart watermelon, face on a pear and the word love in a perfect sphere of an apple. Watching the video this was done by placing a mold around the fruit whilst it was growing.... Challenge on, could I do this with a 3D printed mold?? Well I quickly ordered some cunning clear abs filament from Amazon Prime and set about creating a mold that would go over a tomato. The filament does not print absolutely clear as it is designed to have a light or something shone in it. It has a translucent white colour which I think should be fine to allow the fruit to ripen.
In t he heartmold.stl the heart is about 92mm across at its widest point, this is far to big for a tomato so I printed it at 45% scale. This printed out a better tomoto size.
The mold can either be tie-wrapped, bolted or I have tried bull dog clips for my first experiment. Lets see what happens :)
