This is a functional cannon that fires 1/2 inch steel balls. It also just looks cool. Modeled after a ship cannon, it can fire the steel ball up to 60 mph (using homemade gunpowder, commercial is probably even better). It is 7 and a half inches long and has a built in valve that blocks the fuse hole after fuse burns through, allowing all of the energy released by the gunpowder to be used to accelerate the ball. The spring required to complete the valve assembly is just a typical ballpoint pen spring.
Suggestion: If you plan on firing the cannon, I suggest you place the fuse in first, then pour in a teaspoon of gunpowder, and then insert some type of foam, paper, or even duct tape plug before sliding in the cannonball. The plug will increase the pressure in the cannon and will allow for a much stronger shot. The snugger the plug is, the more powerful your cannon will be.
Print:
2 of the cannon wheels
1 cannon base
1 fuse blocker
1 cannon or 1 short cannon
