I needed a way to turn a handle and drop down a photography backdrop from the cieling. I came across [LarsRb's Gearbox] [og] and though it would be perfect... with some work.
The axles were way to thin to do any work, and their handle would be just as bad as turning the curtain rod by itself. And there wasnt actually a way to mount his design to anything...
This remix replaces every single part with more functional versions. beefier axles built with a key style connection.
Basicaly the only thing that is not remade are the cogs teeth... thats all LarsRb ;)
Most of these parts will need supports, and you will want to remix the Dowell_Holder to match your dowel... unless you happen to be using a 34mm dowell aswell.
Only extra part you will need is a screw for the handle. I used a #8x 1 1/4" Construction screw. And whatever mounting screws you wanna use.
Also, I made these [dowel holders] [holders] that line up with this box.
