Furnace Intake Screen

This intake screen fits a 4 inch (102mm) diameter pipe.

I designed it because a finer mesh screen on the furnace air intake kept freezing over in cold, humid conditions and stopping the furnace. Hopefully the larger slots will prevent frost buildup.

Although it was intended as an intake pipe screen it may serve as a filter for other applications.

Be sure to use a suitable UV resistant filament if you plan to install it outdoors.

The screen is very slightly oversized to a 4 inch pipe. To install it, spread a thin coat of Goop or similar rubbery stuff on the inside rim, let it dry and then push the screen over the pipe.
