This is an intake filter for 3/8in line running to those 8-10$ BLDC pumps on amazon/ebay. The pumps work great except they easily get clogged if they pull in anything larger than a few mm.
Had some plants die after the pump stopped but no issues since installing these.

take some bug screen from the hardware store, cut it to length 1.5 x the circumference of the filter and from the base to where the taper starts. roll it up and zip tie the top. make sure the screen pokes down into the channel running around the base.
