I designed this gardening spade with planting green onions and bulb onions in mind. The spike-shaped form is useful for creating deep, narrow holes in the soil, making it easier to place bulbs without disturbing too much surrounding dirt. I wanted the tool to have an organic, sculpted appearance, so I combined angular forms, flowing curves, and smooth ribbed details throughout the design. The handle includes a bone-like pattern that gives it a unique character while maintaining a smooth, comfortable grip. It is also fun to flip it around and hold it like a dagger! To make storage a little easier, I added a hole at the base of the handle so it can be hung using leather, cord, or twine.
