This allows a hall effect sensor to be mounted on your gas meter. This allows the sensor to detect the magnetic pulses from the last dial on the meter. Have tested on Australian gas meters Landis+Gyr Model 750. It should also work on Elster BK-G4 meters. Other mounts use reed sensors which are prone to switch bouncing and have very little hysteresis. This causes them to misread especially if the magnet is just within range the reed switch will continually flip between on and off. This is solved by using a unipolar hall effect sensor. I used a OH137 sensor which has a Schmitt-triggered output. Fill the gaps with silicone or RTV. Use an M5 stainless bolt max 15mm in length to affix to the meter. The bolt will cutthreads into the plastic. I feed this into an ESP32 with esphome loaded into it.
