Gas Pump Holder

I designed this gas pump holder for my car. As a native New Yorker, the built in trigger lock clip that used to be found in all gas pumps had been removed due to fire-code concerns some years ago. Even in the state I currently live in, though it is not illegal, most gas pumps don't have that built in clip anymore, presumably to prevent patrons from walking away from the pump while it is active, or accidentally driving off with the nozzle still inserted. Not only am I lazy and have no interest in holding the trigger while pumping my gas any longer than I need to. While doom scrolling on Instagram one day I came across a post that showed that gas pump handles are a perfect storm for germs and bacteria because they are high touch surfaces that are used by hundreds to thousands of people daily, exposed to weather and dirt and are rarely, if ever, cleaned between uses. ******WARNING******You should only use this design if you intend to pre-purchase your gas at the counter. For those of
