Students studying higher math frequently ask “When will we ever use this in real life?” In this activity they will have the opportunity to build a real model of the hyperbolic cosine function. Breaking the arch into parts that can be assembled as a puzzle will add an element of interest and illustrate that the stability of the structure rests in the center keystone block.
