My nephew owns an appliance repair business and tries to be frugal for his customers. One needed a knob for their GE dryer and a replacement was not only costly but not readily available so he asked me to design one that he could print. While I found something online which was similar, it did not appear to make use of the metal d-shaped spring that clamps into the knob and onto the shaft of the dryer's switch-control. So I created this one using openscad. Its designed to be printed as two parts and then glue them together to create the effect of a pointer. I could've done this using a multi-color print, but decided creating it as two pieces would allow for anyone to print it and would require less filament than a single multi-color print. After printing, simply use some CA glue or small amount of epoxy to glue the trim ring to the knob; then use the original metal spring (d-shaped) from the factor knob and insert it into the shaft-hole of the newly printed knob.
