Created by my friend Dr. Taka Asaki for me. Print two of these and use them as "finger puppets" for explaining to machine design classes the concepts of conjugate action, contact ratio, interference, involute gear tooth shape, rolling and sliding action, the usefulness of profile modifications, the usefulness of crowning..... tons of things. I got the idea from Dr. Don Houser of Ohio State during his short course in gear vibration. A student of his made a set of wooden gear finger puppets to replace using one's fingers to explain contact ratio and the hand-off from one gear pair to another.
