This is a simple jack that I built to show how gears work, and the affect of a gearing ratio on the ease of use. This uses 2 gears that are a that are 1/2 in. and 2 in. across. I designed this to have triangle cutouts, which cut down on weight while lousing very little structural strength, which allows the jack to use the minimal plastic, and time to print.
To assemble, you must first print off all parts, then you put the rectangular base on to the upright base, don't worry if the fit is tight, it is suppose to be. Then you take the peg that the big gear goes around, and the little gear that has the shaft thought it, and put then the big gear on the peg, the gears should mess tightly, so it might be difficult to put them together at first. After that you take the jack part that goes up and down, and put it into the open slot that is left, you may have to sand the wall that the jack rubs against until the jack moves with little effort when you push it up and down. Finally you put on t
