The concept behind this was to test out the new Generative Design tool in Fusion 360. the goal was to design a shelf bracket for an acrylic shelf to hold some of my designs and 3D prints. I started by deciding on the weight the shelf should hold and the size that i could laser cut.
To start i modeled the shelf, wall and a super basic bracket. Then I modeled the screw holes and their exclusion zones. Once complete Set the materials and run. I then took the information to re model the bracket from scratch using the generated design as a guide. I only used the basic commands of sketches, extrudes and fillets to recreate it.
Overall it was very fun. I would have loved to actually try to manipulate the generated design but alas it is very expensive at $100 usd for the exported model. It was nice that to run the program was free (for now).
Maybe if i get enough likes i will do a better tutorial version with a new part. Send suggestions!!
I am using a 5.75mm thick acrylic sheet
