GEOSTRUCTUREA JOURNEY TO THE HEART OF THE EARTHThe Earth can be divided into different layers. It is divided into continental crust (earth crust under the continental part and in small portions also under the water) and oceanic crust (corresponds to the areas submerged by the ocean and is recently formed); THE MANTLE, also called SIMA due to the presence of Silicon (Si) and Magnesium (Mg). It is divided into lithospheric mantle (it is the most rigid part of the Earth and is divided into plates or plates), asthenospheric mantle (it is a fluid layer with high temperatures at about 200 km depth), lower mantle (composed of very dense and rigid material); THE NUCLEUS, also called NIFE due to the presence of Nickel
