It's a long spring, fastened to the lower side of the printing bed via the two screws holding the hotbed to the y-carriage. It has a fastener to adjust the spring force applied to the side of the glass plate. It is low profile, i.e. it does not protrude above the glass surface.
This thing, as is, has not much use. I was exploring was to fix my glass plate to the heated surface without having anything on top of the glass, so that the whole area of the plate can be used to print on. I don't think I have succeeded, yet.
I am showing this in good hopes that someone else may pick it up and find a better way to solve this. The current problem is, that the applied force causes the arm to twist and then the clamping part turns upwards, lifting the plate up, too. Maybe a tilted clamping face can help.
