I made a remix of Univeral by muzz64
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1264885 because both my glasses stand and my stepfathers I gave to him brooke.
All creed to the original designer. My version has thicker walls and do not break as easily. I also played around with inserting threaded steel rods and made a version were you buy and insert a threaded steel rod 4 mm in diameter. You have to screw them in and cut them afterwards (see picture). I used a small hand saw for metal. It became quite heavy and durable and is hard to break. Really interesting to make a hybrid!
To clarify:
glasses_stand_4mmROD.stl = this version you have to print if you want to buy, insert and cut a threaded steel rod 4 mm in diameter. It costed me 15 SEK (1,5 Euro) in Sweden for 1 meter rod.
glasses_stand_without4mmRod.stl = without holes so you do not have to screw in a steel rod. You just lay it flat and 3d-print it and it is finnished. It is quite stable but not as stable as the above mentioned
