Gothic fidget spinner

Design notesA handheld gothic rose window that turns cathedral geometry into motion. The layout follows a true radial rose. Lobes read as pointed arches, the hub as an oculus, the rim as the stone frame. Layered tracery with cusps and mullion ribs thickened where a mason would carry load, then opened in the glass fields so it balances and spins clean. Small buttress like fins tie the spokes to the outer ring and push forces outward, just like Gothic structures. Why a spinner? Rose windows are radial order made physical. Spinning reveals that harmony and turns contemplation into a tactile act. The centered bearing becomes a tiny clerestory that invites calm repeatable motion while the form studies Gothic structure ornament and light. The openwork throws rosette shadows and can glow through color accents in motion. Light is part of the effect. Two versions are available. One prints in place with a plastic bearing.
