IMPORTANT
1. After installing this mount, look up your declination here: http://magnetic-declination.com/. I mark my puck with a magic marker so I don’t forget. Use a simple protractor to set the angle. If negative, turn your puck counterclockwise. If positive, clockwise.
2. Before your first flight, calibrate your compass using the DJI instructions. Too easy.
Some multicopters just don’t offer a good place to mount the GPS puck. My S-500 is one of those and I’ve seen a dozen different ways that guys lash their GPS pucks to these unfriendly frames. The factory answer is to poke a hole in the light plastic dome and zip tie the post to the rear of the shell. Unfortunately, this still allows the antenna to rotate, rendering your calibration useless. As we all know, declination alignment and compass calibration are CRITICAL to stable hovering, alignment, and straight flight.
