Grade Rod Tripod

This set of parts was designed to use 1/2 inch EMT conduit to make a tripod grade rod holder. A grade rod is like a yardstick with precise markings and meant to be read from a distance. In my case, I have an old auto-level, a device that maintains a line-of-sight level with the earth. The auto-level, along with a grade rod, allows measurement of relative elevations between different points.
While using these tools, my assistant (wife) usually gets tired of holding the grade rod, or I may be on my own without assistance. I wanted a simple device to hold the grade rod up while I measure.
The main part, of course, is the tripod head, that holds 3 sections of conduit at 25 degrees from vertical. The inside of the head is hollowed out to save material. Also, I suppose on a windy day, I could hang some weight from the head with a string to make it more stable.
The double clamp allows 3 additional sections of conduit to be added for adjustability.
